MSU to host first Regional Spartan VEX Robotics High School Challenge

Michigan State University will host the first Regional Spartan VEX Robotics High School Challenge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 20 at IM Circle, located at the corner of West Circle Drive and Kalamazoo Street.

‘Greening’ host Kirk Heinze receives 2009 News/Media Award

Kirk Heinze, host of Greening of the Great Lakes, was awarded the Michigan Chapter Soil and Water Conservation Society 2009 News/Media Award on March 10.  The award recognizes the “dedication to and promotion of natural resource issues in the news and media.”

Nominations and applications are now being accepted for the 2010 Homecoming Court. MSU departments, units and organizations are encouraged to nominate a deserving MSU student. Members of the MSU faculty, staff and student body also are permitted to make nominations.

MSU’s Impact 89 FM named College Station of the Year for the 10th time

The Michigan Association of Broadcasters and Broadcast Music Inc. have named Michigan State University’s WDBM – or Impact 89 FM, as it is commonly known – the college radio station of the year.  The Gold Record Award was presented at the Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference in Lansing on March 3. This is the 10th time in a row that WDBM-FM has won the award.
